This website I feel is important. the most important piece of advice that I got from the blog was that you can produce a lengthy article about something, but most of the time its not important. They said instead of "punching" something out you should create something. If you make your article creative it will keep the article interesting for the reader and help them stay engaged. Also, I love that the blog gives you steps on how to produce a great creative article. The blog takes it a step further to help your blog strive. It tells you how you can make your blog scannable. If others scan your blog there is a higher chance of more people seeing your blog. In today's society people have very short attention spans. I'm losing focus just writing this. Just kidding. However, the blog does recommend that you keep your post under 100 words. Also, to engage readers you should have attention grabbing titles. The titles should be informative short and eye catching.

A piece of advice that I took from this blog about blogging is that readers will continue to visit your blog if they like your writing styles and what you have to say. With that said I like that they advice that you keep your blog personable and have an appealing tone, it could be a playful, exciting, serious, or joking tone. Whatever it is do what works for you and makes your readers and yourself happy.

From this article I grasped the understanding that people have short attention spans and that is amplified when reading on a screen vs. reading print. I know personally when I am reading something on the computer I get distracted very easily. I tend to have multiple tabs open and will jump back and forth between tabs. With that being said im sure my reads probably do the same thing and I know that by following the advice given to me by this blog I can standout from the crowd of blogs.

The inverted triangle approach is important. Talk about the core issues first to engage your reader and keep their attention. I think that if you grab their attention in the beginning then they will read your post all the way till the end. And that is the core objective RIGHT?

This blog is very pretty, but the typography is horrible. It is to light for the background. If she would have darkened the font it would have been easier to read . Also, I think making the font bigger would have helped to strain the eyes less.

This blog has great typography. She uses a simple yet affective font that is easy to read. She also uses color in some of her sentences to have a point come across easier.

Everyone is beautiful!

Beauty is an attitude and it comes from every edge of the Earth. It also comes in all colors, sizes, and looks. These are women who are confident and beautiful. Growing up was semi difficult for me to understand my beauty. My father is South Korean and my mother is of Caucasian descent. I wasn't sure if I needed to embrace my Asian heritage or my American side. However, as I grew older I came to understand that it wasn't about picking a side, but instead it was about being comfortable with who I am. Coming from an Asian background most of the women have small petite frames. I have never been considered the skinny girl and compared to all of my Asian friends I was the fat girl. I was extremely dissatisfied with my body and tried to conceal it as much as possible. Even at 23 years old I am still battling with body image. It gets easier everyday, sure there are some tough days, but I'm starting to realize that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. The picture below comes from the Dove body wash campaign and I tip my hat to them for breaking the stereotypes on beauty.

Introductory post

This image came from the blog Jezebel. I find that the blog has many strengths. I think that the blog is not just centered around wearing make-up for others but instead wearing it for ones self. The blog also gives make-up tips for girls who are looking for tricks to mask their imperfections. However, the blog does a great job to make girls feel comfortable with their imperfections and helps them understand that these make them who they are.

I would like that use their approach in my blog of making sure girls are comfortable in their own skin. I want them to use make-up only to enhance their beauty and not to use it as something to hide behind. Im going to make sure that personality is incorporated into beauty. A girl can be beautiful on the outside but if they are mean the beauty wont transpire on to the outside.

I think that one of the flaws of the blog is that it covers to many topics. I think that when a blog is a little more specific it is easier to follow verses jumping around on numerous topics. I want to focus on make-up and attitudes. Jezebels blog covers everything from fashion, celebraties, sex, and make-up.
